Ladik is a town in central Anatloia (modern Turkey) not far from Konya.
In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the villages of this region were famous for the production of prayer rugs. Ladik was one of the most important centres along with Ghiordes and Bergama.
The special characteristics traditionally associated with Ladik prayer rugs are stepped mihrabs, triple arch mihrabs and two column mihrabs. Warps and wefts are wool.
