Salor Rugs, Salor Carpets

The Salor are thought to be the oldest of the Turkomen tribes, referenced as far back as the 11th Century. In their weavings, the Salor gul consisting of an octagon with turret like projections was traditionally supposed to identify Salor origin. However, there is more recent evidence that other tribes also used this motif.
